e-Bulletin Round-up

From CHASM Director Andy Lymer
|
CHASM continues to be busy across a range of exciting and innovative projects that we hope are bringing real change to the areas of our interests. Our financial inclusion research has been recognised and showcased as part of its University wide ‘Heroes of Birmingham,’ campaign. If you are on the Northern Line or at Westminster underground stations at any time this month and into April do look out for our adverts! If you see any please do take a photo and tweet about it (using @UoBCHASM please so we can see it too) – that would be great.
We have also included details and updates of various other projects we are involved with in the rest of this newsletter – including a recent event we co-hosted with Birmingham City Council building on the project we did for them last year on Problem Gambling in the city. Karen Rowlingson and I will be working with various groups across the city over the next few months to help develop a strategy to address this growing personal finance challenge that negatively affects far too many people at present.
We are also pleased to announce the second cohort of our International Research Fellows following the success of the 2018 Fellowship scheme. Thank you for all the great applications received for the programme this year – it was a tough choice to select the ones we picked. We hope to run the scheme again for 2020 – watch this space if you are interested in visiting us and collaborating on relevant research.
Do also watch out for further details of our forthcoming annual conference (27th June in London 10am – 2pm ). We are looking to provide fuller details on this very shortly as we secure an interesting line up of speakers again.
